The Quiet Rhythm of Making

The Quiet Rhythm of Making

Some moments in the studio move slowly. The process of working with porcelain asks for patience — each form develops gradually through shaping, refining, and paying attention to small details along the way.

Much of the work begins with simple gestures and repeated movements. Time at the wheel, adjusting a curve, refining an edge, or responding to the material itself becomes part of the rhythm of making. There is rarely a rush. The process unfolds piece by piece.

Surrounded by plants, shelves of finished work, and works in progress, the studio becomes a space for observation and experimentation. The small variations left by hand — subtle textures, shifts in form, and natural marks — are embraced as part of each object's character.

Every piece carries evidence of the process and the care behind its making long before it reaches its final form.
