By the end of June, Shelley Rosenstein's work will be exhibited and available for sale at the Arizona State University Art Museum and Ceramic Research Center Museum Store. Shelley has been creating new items for this venue and is excited to be associated with this national and international destination point for the hands-on study and enjoyment of ceramics since its opening in March 2002. The Ceramic Research Center also serves as a key educational component of the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts through its teaching and research facilities.
Please revisit this space often to see current works by Rosenstein as she explores new forms and decorative techniques developed especially for this wonderful institution. The photo above displays a detail of a vase from the new Venice Series, inspired by the extraordinary plants the artist viewed and photographed while visiting Venice, California earlier this spring. Rosenstein is also revisiting a favorite form, floral baskets, but creating surface decorations using Chinese transfer images in a collage format with underglaze painted embellishments. Plates, bowls and cups are on the way...Stay tuned for more!
